Light Design are please to announce that we recently supplied lighting equipment for the Tom Baxter tour production, hosted at the Sheppard’s Bush Empire on 31st January. Light Design was approached by Patrick Murphy, lighting designer for Tom Baxter, to supply the specialist concert lighting for this sell out show. Having worked with Pat Murphy before on countless other high profile productions, Terry Lewsey from Light Design worked closely with Pat on finalising the specification for the design of this concert supplying all equipment used in this all important production on the London leg of the tour!
Patrick Murphy heard that Light Design had new rental stock of the long awaited and newly released Martin Mac 575 krypton moving head and decided to contact us to showcase it on the tour. Terry Lewsey, from Light Design said “we are delighted that Patrick Murphy is the first lighting designer in the world to use and specify the Martin Mac 575 krypton in a tour application, we are confident in our decision to be the first company in the world to purchase stocks of the Mac 575 Krypton, the new fixture to finally replace the Martin Mac 500 and already our purchase is starting to pay off”.
Patrick Murphy, lighting designer for Tom Baxter, said “The Martin Mac 575 Krypton is a superb fixture bursting with features almost on a par with the Mac 700 profile. Its not what I expected for a fixture of this budget and is totally useable for any type of concert lighting and production. The digitised effect gobos and colours as standard, rock! We really enjoyed using them and will be specifying them again soon on future lighting projects”.
This Tom Baxter concert saw the popular artist on tour in the capital with a loyal following coming down to see the show. The event was a sell out tour production with a capacity of 2000 in attendance. Tom was in London to promote the new album Skybound on sale now. Tom Baxter is an upfront, up and coming artist, with a voice in between Van Morrison and Joe Cocker breaking into the scene with his unique sound. The event was an all important showcase of Tom’s talent hosted by record label EMI to promote the launch of his new album!
Light Design are please to have supplied all aspects of additional concert lighting for this Tom Baxter tour production, and to have had the opportunity to showcase the Martin Mac 575 Krypton lighting fixtures on this leg of the tour. We hope Tom has every success with his new album launch and look forward to working with both him and Patrick Murphy again in the future!
